Why Travel Here?

Atlantic Maritime, and Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

                   Physical Geography

Based on its mild climate, proximity to water, and child-friendly attractions, the city of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, would be an ideal                                  tourist destination for seniors, as well as families with young children. Charlottetown is a maritime climate, which means there are mild winters and                        cool summers. This helps because the conditions are never too harsh to travel here, so children won't be too cold, and it will be more comfortable                        for seniors, who will also enjoy living on the water.  In addition to this, Charlottetown is home to numerous Cows creameries, and kids are sure to love                    ice cream!

                   Human Geography

Based on the fact that the majority of the population in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island is Scottish and/or Irish, the city would be a good choice                      for a tourist destination for those of the same cultural group.  As Oktoberfest will also be celebrated here, Charlottetown would also be an                                    acceptable city to visit for those who are German.  This is because the Scottish and the Irish participate in Ceilidhs, and the Germans participate in                      Oktoberfest, and both of these festivals take place in Charlottetown.

Boreal Shield, and Sudbury, Ontario

                    Physical Geography

Since Sudbury, Ontario has undergone a serious re-greening session over the last few decades, but has still many mines and jobs involving mining,                         this city (in the Boreal Shield ecozone) would be quite a destination for naturalists and those who are interested in re-greening the world, as well as                     those fascinated with mining, who are hoping to learn more about it and perhaps take a tour. This is because to those who wish to be                                                   environmentally friendly, and perhaps begin re-greening another area, Sudbury is a perfect example of an urban area that has turned around;                           people would cut down trees, pile them up, and burn them to extract metals from rubble. Now, the city has almost regained the Boreal forests that                       were there before. Also, mining was and still is one of the biggest industries and employers in Sudbury. If one was interested in mining and wished to                     experience it, this would be an ideal place.

                     Human Geography

Four major cultural groups in Sudbury, Ontario are Italian, Ukranian, Finnish, and German.  Though they may not be the biggest in the city, they are                          sufficient to have established their own cultural festivals and buildings, such as the Yarmarok Festival (at the Ukrainian National Federation),                                    Oktoberfest, the Italian Festival (in the Caruso Club), and the Finnish Canadian Grand Festival.  As these celebrations are yearly occurrences in                              Sudbury, the city would be an Ideal tourist destination for someone of one of these cultural groups, as they would have the chance to watch or                              participate in an event of a culture to which they belong.

Southern Arctic, and Rankin Inlet, Nunavut

                     Physical Geography

As it is a remote community in the Nunavut Territory, with extremely cold temperatures and harsh winds, Rankin Inlet would be an ideal tourist                                  destination for adventurous people who enjoy traveling, and would like to experience many types of communities, including one that far north with                      as much natural beauty and recreational activities to offer as this. For example, hockey, and (surprisingly) Badminton, Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer,                      and Wrestling are all activities that are commonly done in Rankin Inlet. The community also contains Iqalugaarjup Nunanga Territorial Park [18], in which                        visitors can observe Inuit traditions from long ago.  Rankin Inlet would truly be a unique place to visit!

                     Human Geography

Due to its small population, composed largely of Inuit people, Rankin Inlet, Nunavut is not a tourist destination recommended for most Canadians.                           However, as it is a larger community in its province and the largest in the ecozone, its cultural festivals and community events are sure to attract                          others who identify as Inuit from the other minor establishments in the Southern Arctic.  Therefore, for the people of these other communities,                                Rankin Inlet would be an excellent tourist destination.
